GABRIEL GARCÍA MÁRQUEZ (1927-2014) was a Colombian novelist, short-story writer, screenwriter and journalist. Considered one of the most significant authors of the 20th century, he was awarded the 1972 Neustadt International Prize for Literature and the 1982 Nobel Prize in Literature. García Márquez wrote many acclaimed non-fiction works and short stories but is best known for his novels such as ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SOLITUDE (1970) and LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA (1988). His works have achieved significant critical acclaim and widespread commercial success, most notably for popularizing a literary style labeled as magic realism, which uses magical elements and events in otherwise ordinary and realistic situations. Some of his works are set in a fictional village called Macondo (the town mainly inspired by his birthplace Aracataca), and most of them express the theme of solitude. This collection represents a substantial improvement over my previous García Márquez collection. All the books -- reissued by Penguin in 2014 -- are in retail ePUB and MOBI format: * THE AUTUMN OF THE PATRIARCH (Penguin, 2014). Translated by Gregory Rabassa. * CHRONICLE OF A DEATH FORETOLD (Penguin, 2014). Translated by Gregory Rabassa. * COLLECTED STORIES (Penguin, 2014). Translated by Gregory Rabassa and J. S. Bernstein. * THE GENERAL IN HIS LABYRINTH (Penguin, 2014). Translated by Edith Grossman. * LIVING TO TELL THE TALE (Penguin, 2014). Translated by Edith Grossman. * LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA (Penguin, 2014). Translated by Edith Grossman. * NEWS OF A KIDNAPPING (Penguin, 2014). Translated by Edith Grossman. * NO ONE WRITES TO THE COLONEL (Penguin, 2014). Translated by J. S. Bernstein. * OF LOVE AND OTHER DEMONS (Penguin, 2014). Translated by Edith Grossman. * ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SOLITUDE (Penguin, 2014). Translated by Gregory Rabassa. Dear workerbee, Garcia Marquez' magical-realist muse was Juan Rulfo, whose muse in turn was, in his own words, Halldor Laxness. But neither Rulfo's nor Laxness' works are represented at TPB. Thanks to nepalifiction, I was recently able to dig a book (Pedro Paramo) by Rulfo online. Can you help with Laxness (and more Rulfo, possibly)?
Thanks!
thanks
@malanzirotti - I have nothing by Rulfo but 3 novels by Laxness are here: https://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/10013946/
