Finished! But new problem: after all steps, launcher/game refuse to open (uninstalling Long War does not allow game to start). Log from Long War installation says

Could be one of the second wave options some combinations can couse such errors as far as i remember from the long war blog at the nexus
if your running skidrows version then there is a file on the http://cs.rin.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=63811&start=150 that could help you
if your running on an i7 then it seems like your out of luck

As I understand from the producers site, you cant use Slingshot or the the second mission add With the Psy.woman rescue ... Not sure, but from the Clip I saw of the game, the man who played it didnt cross these options on in the second wave option menu ... :)

when I try and start I get the error "The program can`t start becuaseMSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer."

Couple of tips:

* Check your log (in your My Games folder) after a crash. Helped me find a few issues.
* Found out that loading certain soldier voice files (some, not all) would cause a crash. Disabling soldier voices in the menu solved this.
* Save a lot
* Pray that the uploader does this for future betas

>Installed the Long War mod
>Spammed the Launcher until it worked. Took about 2-3 times.

Always reinstall the Long War mod after you try a crack out since it patches the .exe.

If you only have 4 soldiers inside the dropship after the intro cutscene then you're not actually playing Long War."

I have Reloaded version (11/2013) of XCOM EW and this mod does not work. CTD when loading first mission. BUT i tried Long War EU Alternate and it did work, then i installed most recent Beta 10 version and it also work. Played several missions and it look good. Looks like this mod need very specific version of a game.

Can confirm this works for me on the RELOADED release. Here's some more detailed instructions.

1. When you extract the update, make sure you extract to "XCOM Enemy Within/XEW", not just "XCOM Enemy Within".

2. There's no easy way to tell which crack patch to use. Just use each one separately until you find one that works for you. Just be sure that, like in step 1, you extract to "XCOM Enemy Within/XEW", not just "XCOM Enemy Within".

3. Install Long War. I tried the included Beta9a version, Beta11, and the current (as of this writing) Beta12b. All worked for me.

4. When you launch, you must launch from XCOMLauncher.exe inside "XCOM Enemy WithinXEWBinariesWin32". Every other .exe inside the XCOM folder will crash.

But what about a crack for AMD FX processors?

Did everything in instructions and I followed inst. in the comments. Everything's fine, instalation and all, but then I open launcher, chose Enemy Within and I got circle around my mouse, like it's loading, but after 2-5 seconds, it disapers, aaand nothing happens. I would realy appreciate help. Btw I have AMD Anthlon(tm) 64 x2 Dual Core procesor, so which crack should I use ? Thanks to anyone who replies.

Also, when I instal mod, i get missing msvcr120.dll. I download it and put in folder. Dont know should I do that ?

to expand on welp11's guide, here's how I got Long war to work:
Get either this or z10yded's repacked torrent (I used the repack)
Go to:
http://cs.rin.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=63811&start=90

Download sam2k8's "XEW.Update.v1.0.0.9040" file and the .exe that matches the closest to your processor (you can find them in the later pages)
Download the Mod from "http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom/mods/88/?" get the upk fix while you're there too (otherwise your game might be slightly buggy)
Extract the update to your Enemy Within folder and replace the .exe in the BinariesWin32 folder
Install the mod into the XEW folder and replace the .upk in XComGameCookedPCConsole

The game worked for me after all that, i hope this helps someone out there
