Parted Magic 2014 06 10 Parted Magic is a Linux distribution aimed at disk partitioning and duplication, file system manipulation, and data recovery and destruction. To that end it includes several open source tools such as parted, gparted, partclone, clonezilla, ddrescue, and secure delete, among others. This torrent includes both the .iso and the PXE versions. Please seed until at least 1:1 ratio as I have a slow uplink, and relying upon it will make downloading this very, very painful. Thanx!

One question: what can I do with the "PXE" thing?
@Palinator The PXE version is for 'PXE Booting,' (or network booting). Most modern systems and NICs include a PXE bootstrap environment allowing one to boot a system from an OS hosted on a server. If you want to know more you can read the Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preboot_Execution_Environment
Ok thank you for the information ... sounds interesting :)
PXE is for booting from the network. Take a server that pushes the image on a client on the BIOS level.
I wonder why the author wants a little money for his commercial distro? It was free in 2013 and then the author wants a little money.

@igtf0
It's not "a little money" to someone in a third-world country; it's $60 a year or $5/version with no allowance for students, etc. $60 is more than many commercial drive management utils, though admittedly PM does more, but that is due to OTHER'S work, and not the "author." Should be "compiler" and not "author" as he mostly just compiled his own distro.
I pay for this out of my own pocket, and make it freely available as civil disobedience du to my annoyance at Patrick Verner's attitude. Everyone is due a fair return on their labor, and I don't begrudge paying him for spinning this distro, just not the $60 a year he demands.

@fat_rat he started charging for it because, in the typical sense of the world, there are always fucking idiots trying to take advantage of things that are not theirs, and these idiots started selling his compilation on ebay. So now you have someone who compiles and offers it for free, and then the scum that sells it on ebay as if it were theirs. At least patric verner provides a "service" which is the bundling together and making it a bootable image, updating it and supporting users. You pay for that service. The mediocre souls selling it on ebay did nothing at all, just download it and on top of that profit from open source licenses that do not allow resale as "product".

You didn't pay for Parted Magic. You got it from somebody else and posted it here. You don't even have the price correct. It's $49.99 per year. Show some proof that you at least paid for it. Do you even have a job or do you still live in your Mom's basement?

Nice upload, lots of good utilities, only one issue...
Ran the package ClamAV and found ~3800 hits. Gotta remove them one at a time. Nowhere can you remove them in one click. This commercial version is rather nice but the AV should be more user friendly …not worth using as an Antivirus Disc.
On-board AV's work well but if the PC is mess up to where a AV Boot Disc is needed, then download a dedicated one instead.
FYI I test utility software, not merchandise it. This is a 4 ½ ★ out of 5 ★.

Like the real Mr. Verner would post on this site. God damn you guys are fucking stupid. Anybody that would download anything from a site plastered with porno ads is asking for a virus. I sure as hell wouldn't download anything from this place. I'm shocked a virus writer hasn't posted "Parted Magic" torrents. You morons would fuck your own mother for $5. Hear that boys? Opportunity is knocking. These idiots wouldn't even verify it. IT'S FREE!!!!
LOL

Apparently creating a piece of malware to infect win machines while running on top of unix-like system is much more difficult than put together some common packages, bootloader and a custom wallpaper.

Sorry about misquoting the price. It was late and I was tired. Buy hey, I see you've doubled your one-off price, no doubt to induce people to pay for the yearly subscription by making it appear more "cost effective." As I recall, last year you posted less than 10 updates, so people who bought yearly subs got screwed. As I intimated before, if you didn't appear to have such a mercenary attitude I wouldn't derive such pleasure from making this available to the world. But in general, I like sharing, and I derive more satisfaction from sharing something that is uncommon or not available in general but in demand. That's why I bought the issue of Linux Magazine that had the Knoppix v7.3.0 disc in it and promptly posted it. In the past I've stuck to Usenet as it is more convenient; I don't have to keep a VM up with a VPN connection to some semi-lawless country (I'm lookin' at you Russia) while I seed.
Speaking of Knoppix; Klaus Knopper performs the exact same service that you do, but he doesn't charge for his distro. Just sayin'.
@World
Sorry I missed a couple updates. PV doesn't have a release announcement mechanism that I know of so I have to think to go check his site. BTW, I guess I'll be paying for the yearly sub now that, as I pointed out above, PV's made it the more cost effective option. Maybe subscribers get an email when a new version is released and that'll help me keep my posts up to date. I'll try to do better in the future. :-)
Until the next release....
