Woody Grant (Bruce Dern) is an old man who believes he won $ 1 million after receiving the mail an advertisement. Decided to withdraw the award, he decides to walk to the distant city of Lincoln, Nebraska. Realizing that the stubbornness of the father will travel anyway, his son David (Will Forte) decides to take him away. Only in the way that Woody has an accident and hits her head, needing rest. David decides to change plans a bit, spending the weekend at the home of one of his uncles before leaving for Lincoln.
