This is not an easy film for Strich fans, for it documents the diva's decline and self-imposed exile from Manhattan. The feisty and wit are still there along with some of the famed ferocity, but this is a Strich bowed by time and struggling not to go gently in that good night. I don't know where they buried here but her heart will always be on Broadway. My only regret in 50 years of theatergoing is I never got to this dame on stage - but you couldn't tear her out of New York long enough for a tour.
