You know that you could have kept your saves for the first DLC ?
That's what I've done.

The thing is the team don't use the same directories to keep the saves.
You just have to locate the two directories and make the transfer

This fix helped restore my character when I installed the first DLC. Hopefully it will work with people having problems with their saves on this DLC as well. Confirmed to work with Reloaded and NOsteam versions.
Backup all saves from appdata/roaming/darksoulsII before continuing.
1. After installing this CODEX version, launch a new game.
2. Save & exit to the main menu
3. Click on Continue - you will see the save file you just created.
4. Return to Windows, without quitting the game (use alt+tab)
5. Go to the save folder : users/"you"/AppData/Roaming/Dark souls II/01100001*****
6. Copy your save file over the newly created save file (DARKSII0000.sl2)
7. Return to the game
8. Load the save file (this is still the former save file of the new game you launched step 1). This is normal. An error message will appear : this is also normal. After validating this error message, your real save file will appear on the screen (character name, soul level, location and game time)
: DO NOT LOAD IT RIGHT AWAY.
9. Return to the main menu and launch yet another new game.
10. Save & quit - you return on the main menu.
11. Click on Continue : your real save file and the new game save file are here.
12. Load your real save file
13. Enjoy the DLC

Never should you quit the game during these operations.

I just want the Crown of the Old Iron King DLC ONLY....I don't want to download the full game and the 1st DLC as well!! This is a waste of time!! Why can't they just release the DLC by itself?

Nero... If you had bothered to read the description at all you would see they clearly stated why they chose to upload as a stand alone.

Even after moving the crack over it only opens steam. I've tried having it in just about any location at some point. Am i just moving it to the wrong place or something?

When I load the game, everything works fine until I'm done adjusting the settings ( when it prompts me to ) then once the actual game starts to load, it stops responding and crashes. Fix for this?

I have downloaded and finished both games(standalone and SK DLC), so if I download this one as well will it replace the standalone DKS II files or will it pile up?

Was confused on what items i needed to acces the dlc, didnt noticed they were both in my inventory under the Keys section.

@smokenbonghits You mean the menu shows Xbox promts? like A=accept B=cancel? cuz thats normal, from software programmeed it that way, probably cuz its just a direct port from the xbox verion or they expects you to play the game with an Xbox controller since PC=Microsoft=Xbox, but you get used to playing with mouse and keyboard.
