Scarletbook is a tool for extracting DFF tracks from SACD ISO's. So they can be played in a media player or on a portable player. The original version needs command line input to extract. This version has various batch files included for easy extracting. Instructions are in the Readme.

I'm having major trouble with my connection at the moment.
I'm trying to seed this as much as I can.
Please be patient.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi hal4000,
I use the "free" Sonore ISO2DSD, it has a GUI and works really well.
Google it, first hit.
Don't mean to detract from what your posting here, just thought you may be interested.

There's no such thing as a "free" lunch.
Anyway, I appreciate your comment, but I"ve been using this thing here for about 6 or 7 years.
And it works....
No need for a GUI.
The damn thing only needs to extract,
and it extracts....
Why do I need a GUI?
Thank you though.....

Apologies, I spend too much time posting in Windows forums, just sharing my thoughts I guess.
I'm a bit of a software whore. ;)
Thanks for Scarlet.

Sonore was free, I told everyone a month ago. They just took down the free software though. I can't get this to work.
Just make sure it's registered in Windows.
With a command line or with the batch file.
Then just double-click on your .bat of choice.
Read the Readme.

JRiver will not extract Dff or Dsf files from a SACD ISO.
I just have to say that the SACD rips you and Sig have been posting are a revelation.
Plus, your posts made me find my way to Audirvana which makes everything sound better, yes, even MP3s...
Many thanks

You're welcome.
Good to see there's someone out there who does not suffer from "cloth ears".
Enjoy.

You are obviously not interested in high-resolution music.
So I really don't see the point in you posting only negative BS comments.
Why don't you go to some forum and do that.
And again, JRiver will NOT extract any DSD files from ISO.
It will convert on the fly, if you don't have a DSD-capable DAC connected, then converts back to DSD if you want it to.
Without a DSD-DAC, it will convert as soon as you load a DSD file, period.
If you really feel the need to judge DSD all the time, go out and spend some money on a decent native-DSD DAC and start listening to it like it was meant to be be listened to, then come back here.
But please stop being negative and don't judge things if you've never even listened to them.

Just for the record, last time I'm gonna do this:
1-DSD is NOT PCM, converting is lossy.
2-When converting DSD to PCM, pretty complex
algorithms are needed.
3-Dithering is an absolute neccesity. (TPDF type)
4-When using professional software like Saracon
for converting DSD to PCM, by default a 6Db
gain is applied. This can sometimes be too
much and can cause audible clipping and
therefore needs to be adjusted.
5-JRiver (or any other player) will convert DSD
to PCM on the fly when loaded if no DSD DAC
is found.
6-Without a native DSD-DAC you will NOT hear
DSD, you will be listening to PCM, converted
on the fly without dithering and gain
adjustment, which will NOT give good results.
7-When a properly configurated DSD-DAC is
used (instead of some crappy PC soundcard)
the results are absolutely amazing.
The difference between DSD and PCM is like
night and day...
Good day...

Also, postpro....
Stop posting your pathetic little images, if you don't know the difference between extracting and converting.
Just get lost and DROP DEAD!!!!!

Postpro, read up on sigma delta ADC and DAC. Spoiler: all DAC's playing up PCM will first convert it to DSD and then to analog, and all ADC's used for recording analog will record a DSD and then convert it to PCM.
