OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 bootable USB (DMG File) (13F34) Use the "Restore" option in Disk Utility to write it down on a USB-stick. Enjoy! How to do info.. Format Your USB Flash Drive 1. Insert the USB flash drive into your Mac’s USB port. 2. Launch Disk Utility, located at /Applications/Utilities/. 3. In the list of drives attached to your Mac, select the USB flash drive device. In my case, it’s called 14.9 GB SanDisk Cruzer Media. 4. Click the ‘Partition’ tab. 5. Select ‘1 Partition’ from the Volume Scheme dropdown menu. 6. Enter a descriptive name for your flash drive; I chose "USB Install Drive" 7. Select Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) from the Format dropdown menu. 8. Click the ‘Options’ button. 9. Select ‘GUID Partition Table’ from the list of available partition schemes. 10. Click ‘OK and click "Apply" Now the USB flash drive is prepared you can Restore "OS X Base System.dmg" to your flash drive. 1. Click on "Restore" in the Disk Utility window. 2. Drag "OS X Base System.dmg" to "Source" 3. Drag the usb flash drive (in my case "USB Install Drive") to "Destination" 4. Click "Restore" en enter your system password. 5. Done.. For Snow Leopard users...... The source image needs to be imagescanned before it can be restored. And this is how you do it... 1. Select the image. (dmg file) (in Disk Utility) 2. Go to the top menu of the Disk Utility application: Images > Scan for Restore. 3. Now you're able to restore the dmg to your usb flash drive. 4. When done, restart the computer with ALT pressed and select the usb.

@EliteBeast
8gb usb flash drive will work!
8gb usb flash drive will work!
If it doesn't work then its cause you don't meet the system requirements http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842
How do I make this to a single file? Like it should only be a file called ''Install OS X Mavericks''
i need it so I can run Unibeast.
when I open DMG file, there will be bunch of files there. I need it to only be one

@Norwegian-FunFun
you can not do anything with the dmg file itself. After you restored it on a usb-stick you can restart the computer with this usb-stick and install the software.

But maybe there are more ways to install the software. I don't know that. I have no experience with Unibeast.

Unibeast will only detect if the whole content is in one file. File called ''Install OS X Mavericks''
This one have bunch of files spread all over it. it will work with other tools than Unibeast, but I prefer Unibeast, since it has better support.
So for Unibeast users, this will not work.

Will this work as a downgrade from Yosemite? I see it says 10.9.5, do I have to have 10.9 in order to downgrade? Thanks.
@ultravioletheadrush
I think you can only downgrade to an older version after formatting the drive. But yes you can use this version 10.9.5 You don't need to install 10.9 first.

Thanks, works perfectly. Nice instructions.
This should be made available by Apple of course but because they lack to do so, I am happy that I found this nice upload. Even with instructions how to make a USB stick so you can use it for a clean install straight ahead. Well done, many thanks!!
TY BongoNL! If anyone is trying to do a clean install from the Recovery Disk like I did here's my advice. You need access to a PC and you need to download TransMac on to your PC... it has a 15-day trial. You will need 2 USB Flash Drives (8GB min.) Plug in a USB Flash Drive into the PC and open TransMac. Right click on your USB Disk (in left pane) and select Format Disk For Mac (name it whatever you want.) After it's formated click on the USB disk in the left pane. You will see a folder labeled with the name you chose. Drag and drop the DMG FILE into the right pane to copy it to your flash drive. After it's done copying you can put the USB into your Mac with the DMG FILE on it. With your other USB follow the How to info BongoNL has provided. The DMG FILE will be located on the first USB, so you can drag it to Source during step 2. I hope this helps, because it took me hours to figure this out.
@BongoNL It works!! Previously I ran Mountain Lion. Now I am running Mavericks. Thank You very much

Hi BongoNL!
Thank you for your work! I have received your OSX 10.9.5 Installer from a Mac support service. After installing, I miss 2 things: The iPhoto app in the Applications folder, and the Applications folder for /users/this user. I have created my own folder, but that is of course not 'blessed' by Apple. I imagine this might become a problem with software which during a standard install tries to install itself in this folder. - WRT iPhoto, I use this to see WHERE I have taken a photo using the Map. In 10.10, this is all too inaccurate, because a thumbnail is displayed - which covers a lot of space, whereas in 10.9.5, just a pin is shown.
So my question/request: Is there a chance that you could offer a new build - or maybe a patch?? - with these items in place? Thank you.
