It's a brand new series on Danish National TV. About the war in 1864 and the dirty politics leading up to it. In a total of 8 episodes. So don't expect English subtitles anytime soon. Unless DR (the broadcasting company) decides to sell the series abroad. Personally I haven't seen any suggestions, on any of the Danish trackers, to create English subtitles for it.
Thank you very much for the information, kind Sir. I reiterate that this looks VERY interesting. Denmark has produced some great drama of late, so here's hoping that their deserved reputation of making top-notch (dare I say, hip) shows WILL see it picked up abroad (therefore: translation) sooner rather than later.

I'm an English speaker who watches my fair share of Danish television and I find that many of the Danish torrents include Danish subtitles for the hard of hearing. I just open the subtitle file and copy into Google Translate then copy that back to the subtitle file. It takes a little finagling as the translation removes a portion of a key symbol in each subtitle line that makes the subtitle work. But using the 'find and replace' function in textedit I'm able to fix that in a minute. The only issue is that it's a direct translation and sometimes it doesn't make sense (like those bad Asian subtitles). But it does the job until a true subtitle comes along.
It looks like BBC4 picked up the series and plans to air it at years end. So it will air in the UK with English subs.
