Les.Vacances.de.M.Hulot.1953.[1978.Release].1080p.Criterion.Bluray.DTS.x264-GCJM ======= Monsieur Hulot, Jacques Tati’s endearing clown, takes a holiday at a seaside resort, where his presence provokes one catastrophe after another. Tati’s masterpiece of gentle slapstick is a series of effortlessly well-choreographed sight gags involving dogs, boats, and firecrackers; it was the first entry in the Hulot series and the film that launched its maker to international stardom. This is Tati's re-edited version from 1978. ======= https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0046487/ https://www.criterion.com/films/360-monsieur-hulot-s-holiday https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Monsieur-Hulots-Holiday-Blu-ray/108709/#Review https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsieur_Hulot%27s_Holiday Genre : Comedy Director : Jacques Tati Starring : Jacques Tati, Nathalie Pascaud, Louis Perrault ======= Encoded from the Criterion blu-ray release. Another amazing upload. It is really incredible how much time and energy you put into all these shares—you really deserve all the praise!
From Criterion releases to the silent, silver greats like Chaplin, and everything in between, your selections have been absolutely superb; one can tell that you appreciate the historical and cultural importance of these films. Equally important, by sharing these films you are helping to introduce them to a larger audience. It is really incredible that with each upload I am essentially checking off films I already own or would like to. And your attention to detail isn't overlooked either, whether that's including the extras like you did on the The Mack Sennett share or retaining the image quality without sacrificing anything.
I just wanted to extend my gratitude and let you know that your efforts are valued by many of us here. Thank you.

I share 200% of previous comment! Thanks again, mate.
I'm kinda blushing, kinda :D
Thank you, for your appreciation and encouragement. I do love film, so the encodes are initially for my own enjoyment and collection. The fact that we can share digital files truly puts the cherry on the cake.
I'll attempt to maintain and improve.
enjoy ;)

Yes, very nice uploads with full of good information and a nice and kind guy as well. I don't know if GCJY but if I was Saint Peter, I would give you the keys... :)
It seems that the image was truncated on this version. I have a Criterion print of 1.16 GB where the opening credits, for example, look quite different. It's described as a "new version" from 1977.
There, the credit text doesn't border on the frame of the image, so there's much more space around it. Also the shot is from a longer distance. Also, there is no music in one scene I sampled from the other version, whereas here there is. Odd.
Thanks for the work, but I'll be viewing the other version in spite of its inevitably less sharp (and less brilliant) image quality.
