Inspirada en un hecho real, La plegaria del vidente se aventura a construir una ficción desde una teoría particular sobre el extraño caso del “Loco de la ruta”. El punto de partida del relato es la aparición del cadáver de una prostituta estrangulada en las afueras de la ciudad de Mar del Plata, hecho que reúne a un detective, un periodista y un vidente alrededor de una compleja investigación que desencadenará otros crímenes. La película es un policial en clave de thriller que se sumerge en los infiernos de la ciudad balnearia, y no sólo evita la imagen de postal turística sino que logra convertir el paisaje marplatense en un escenario inédito para el cine de género nacional.
