Intorno all'anno Mille in Gran Bretagna, all'inizio del regno di re Artù, Kayley, una fanciulla vivace e determinata, ha un sogno: diventare un cavaliere della Tavola Rotonda come il suo defunto padre, sir Lionel. Quando il malvagio Ruber, assetato di potere, ruba la preziosa Excalibur con la complicità del perverso Grifone, Kayley decide di mettersi alla ricerca della spada per riuscire a salvare Camelot. Addentratasi in una foresta fitta e terribile, Kayley incontra Garrett, un giovane cieco ma autosufficiente che, nel prosieguo del cammino, si dimostra un aiuto determinante al fine di superare difficili e imprevedibili ostacoli. Vincendo una iniziale diffidenza, Garret accetta di unirsi alla ricerca di Kayley, ma i due ragazzi non avrebbero successo, se non arrivasse in aiuto il mago Merlino che, utilizzando le armi magiche, riesce a sottomettere il crudele Ruber. Subito dopo anche la madre di Kayley, che era stata rapita, viene liberata. Kayley e Garrett si baciano, si sposano, Camelot è salva.
