Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels) are two extremely stupid men. When Lloyd leads to the airport Mary Swanson (Lauren Holly), a beautiful woman who goes to Aspen, Colorado, believes that Mary lost a suitcase. In fact she "forgot" in the lobby, because inside it is a large sum to pay her husband's ransom, but before the kidnappers grab the valise Lloyd to recovers and attempts to deliver it. As the flight is gone and he is attracted to Mary convinces Harry to go to Aspen to return the money. On the trip they engage in various confusions, and are persecuted by the kidnappers.
