Test
Sorry for the test, I can't seem to add my "long" comment, I'll see if I can split it up.:
1. I downloaded ep 1 and compared it to that other (18GB, mentioned in the original Reddit 'ATLA Remastered' post) x265 encode (and both to the original 63GB x264), let's call that one A, the original O, and this one B, here's my short opinion. Btw, sorry in advance for the harsh critisism (though I tried to stay objective):

Btw, sorry in advance for the harsh critisism (though I tried to stay objective):
Video: A isn't perfect, there's still some slight loss of quality (compared to O), but it's hard to see; for most/nearly all of it you'd need to pause and compare to the original to really notice. B's video (which is about 75% of A's size), however, has noticeably lower quality; there's a lot of block-y artifacts where A and O are smooth, a lot of lines broken because of surrounding color bleeding, etc. If you don't notice or care, good for you :) It's not extremely bad, but it is very much there. If O is 10/10, then I'd say A is 9/10 and this is 6/10
Audio: O's audio is a direct copy from DVD and A kept that audio track, not much more to say about it. B, however, has re-encoded the audio to 160kbps AAC, and even though 160k AAC is supposed to be ok, somehow it sounds bad (I did a blind test, I picked the worse sounding B track right every time). Most people may not notice, but if you notice 128kbps mp3's low quality, you will notice this. I'm personally more bothered by the bad audio than the video and I don't think re-encoding the audio was worth saving 5MB per ep (so 300MB out of 13000MB) over.
In short: video and audio of this 12GB x265 release are both noticeably worse than the other 18GB x265 one, it's up to you if you think it's worth the 50% less disk space and download time.
