Can someone help me with this? Why do Grym releases have momentary freezes? Does anybody here actually watch what they download?! I hardly read any comments on quality! Thus far, i've noticed this issue in Fast and Furious 6 (scene in the pawn shop right before Dom kicks ass) and in X-Men Days of Future Past (scene right when Wolverine gets up from water bed). Can someone confirm/deny this? Why does this happen? Is it bad ripping? Bad source? Or Grym has a bad bluray player?

No problems on my copy, possibly corruption in your mkv-file.
Try "forced recheck" with your torrent program!

@FatherOfThree Thanks for replying. I do not the mean the Rogue Cut, which is not part of the torrent The.X-Men.Series.1-7 Complete.Bluray 1080p.DTS-HD-5.1-6.1-7.1.x264-Grym. Maybe the reason why this torrent is no longer available here is because it was messy on some files. I take it you do not have these momentary freeze issues with other Grym releases?

@xirikiki indeed there is such problem and its known for quite some time

u can find it in movies like gladiator/hercules and many others i can even point u to the times
gladiator is at the very end where the black guy leaves before the titles and there are some other occurancies as well

what is going on basically is this

since most of the grym releases are special editions they have extra scenes and when there is a switch in the chapters there is a brief pause of 1 frame thats 1/24th of a second of a freeze screen due to the program he is using to stich the chapters all together

its not really a problem unless u are an experienced video editor or u know what u are looking for

personally i think grym releases are good enough until 4k and even then his extras will still be a treasure

@napo2user Thanks for explaining, though i don't understand why Grym does that. Wouldn't a special edition bluray contain the extra scenes? Or is he adding deleted scenes to the movie? That all sounds like a lot of work, to end up with an unfaithful release of the movie which has these momentary freezes. I'm not sure you are right, but if so, it would be nice to know when a release undergoes video editing from the original content. I've watched a few movies from Grym now, and only found those issues in the ones i mentioned. Nonetheless, i've downloaded the same movie from other rippers and they don't have momentary freezes. So maybe it's rather a bad copy or a media player issue? idk

I've downloaded the same movies from other rippers (FGT and CLASSiC) and they don't have those momentary freezes, and they were the same release (with same length). I've now watched the first two Jurassic Park, X-Men Origins and The Terminator from Grym and none displayed momentary freezes. Maybe it's rather a bad rip from a bad source or a bad media player... but i would sure like to know directly from @vonRicht. Thanks again
