https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1524095/ 718 X 404 H.264 MP4 video 111min 1GB approx This is a documentary about the former Prime Minister of Pakistan who despite being a woman in a predominantly moslem country chose to seek to power and was allowed to do so for a period back at the time. There is a lot in this video about the culture and religious backdrop which surrounded her ascension and final premature death at the hands of an assassin at the end of her time. A chapter in the video deals with a period additionally, during the reign of am opponent to her mindset, when "sharia law' was imposed. This is a cruel misapplication by western standards of punishments and cruelties vented in connection thereto for deemed offenses that in the west would go unpunished as "not a crime at all" or in any event deal with in a civilized manner rather than involving public beatings and the like. In Saudi Arabia, for example, Judges can order limbs to be amputated and executions are commonplace enough there and in Iran etc where so-called religious "Mullas" reign in place of honestly complied with civil procedure and principles therefrom. I do want to say that unlike most of her compatriots on the planet that have evolved with her mindset in the midst of harshness of spirit in the application of punishments and restrictions etc. Bhutto did at times show a marked recognition of certain principles which indicate that human idealism was something she was vey much aware of and would keenly express views in line with them notwithstanding the harm she confessed to fear could apply to this sort of expression in that part of the world. Many a gal even in the west that have her presence lack an equal level of spirit and awareness of its importance in human existentialism as it were I have to say from what I see around me too often even in Toronto Canada etc. It was in a bid to kill off this awareness of spirit in her, that she was cruelly sentenced to a barbaric period in solitary confinement in a lowest grade cell in her country that she may have succumbed to the loss of reality at the end that afflict all too many that have had similar backgrounds on the planet in respect of a mindset which has endured and persisted to exist under whatever cruel conditions have had to be complied with given the status quo.
