DVD notes.

First off, this is *not* one for the digital purists. Both audio and video sources are lossy sourced, and very likely a higher quality version will surface soon. (And the inevitable commercial DVD will be top quality, and should be purchased by everyone reading or writing this text file.) This is simply my attempt to take the best audio/video sources I could find on the Internets the weekend of the show, and make an NTSC DVD that would play on my TV. The resulting DVD turned out quite nice, so I share it here so that others may benefit from my afternoon of format conversion and audio tweaking.

That said, the results are quite good. This looks and sounds quite a bit better than the "highest quality" recording I Tivo'ed off cable, and unlike the US broadcasts, it's complete. Yeah, I'd much rather have something encoded from a high bitrade satellite feed rather than XviD. But that hasn't surfaced yet, and I'm sure there are others out there who, in the meantime, would like to enjoy this on DVD.

CONVERSIONS INFO:
VIDEO: XviD video (576x320, 25fps, 2184Kbps) converted to MPEG2 (CBR 8500Kbps 720x480 29.97fps) using TMPGEnc 2.524.
AUDIO1: Original XviD video (48KHz 224Kbps MP3 audio) converted to 48KHz stereo WAV and normalized using Adobe Audition 1.5.
AUDIO2: FLACs extracted to 44.1KHz stereo and joined using SHNTool. Normalized using Adobe Audition. Missing intro section added and cross-faded from AUDIO1 source.
AUDIO3: FLACs extracted to 44.1KHz stereo and joined using SHNTool. Normalized using Adobe Audition. Missing intro section added and cross-faded from AUDIO1 source.

All audio tracks transcoded to 320Kbps Dolby Digital and DVD authored using Adobe Encore DVD 1.5. No menus or additional goodies. Chapter marks at the beginning of each song.

There you have it. If it's your thing, please enjoy this DVD. DO NOT SELL IT, EVER. When the commercial product becomes available, buy it. And while you're at it, END GLOBAL POVERTY.

Hmm Sounds Interesting.....
I´ll think i download it and have in the wait for the commercial DVD release....
Thanks Man.....
Great work - thanks.
Just jumped on here and watched the seeds drop from 24 to 9 in 20 minutes. Should take me a full day to get this at the rate things are going. C'mon guys, stick around for a while to keep things flowing.

Sorry TCA, but I'll be sure to let you know how it looks on my end if I can get it.

Regards.
Looks great TCA! It's Ell-Ess-Dee's take converted to DVD format, yes?
"Ell-Ess-Dee's take converted to DVD format, yes?"

Correct...converted to NTSC (US) DVD. Plus added the two alternate audio tracks. Whatever Ell Ess Dee did with his video, it held up well in the conversion! I was thinking in hindsight it would also be fun to have the US MTV audio track, complete with cut to commercials in Comfortable Numb. Or maybe not...
Funny one TheCoolArrow....I was watching it on MTV and I could not believe they cut into the song like that during one of the best guitar solo's of all time. Bet if it was 50cent or some rapper they wouldn't have cut into it. Stupid kids nowdays don't know what good music is, damn I sound like my dad :) Anyway thanx so much to Ell-Ess-Dee and you TheCoolArrow for ripping this. It actually brought a tear to my eye and sent chills through me when I heard and saw these guys back together again. I wish they would do one last tour for all of us that missed them before. Thanx again you did a great job!
Hope people arent just grabbing and leaving, damn leechers. You should be banned from torrent sites. And stop capping upload speeds asshats.Others want this just as much as you so SHARE RIGHT!!

Why is download imposible?
I am having a hard time burning this. I can only burn it as a Data DVD and that wont work in my DVD player. If anyone has any suggestion i would appreciate it. I tried Roxio DVD burner but it converts the files and in doing so it is too large for a disc. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
BeeOhBee: Download a free 30-day eval of Nero and try that. Burn it as a DVD Video. Just drag over the contents of the VIDEO_TS folder and go.
