Navigate to C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedOffice 12Office Setup ControllerProof.en 

Inside the folder, edit the xml file in notepad... 
...find where it says 

<Feature Id="SetupXmlFiles" Cost="1248"> 
<OptionRef Id="AlwaysInstalled"/> 
</Feature> 

and replace "AlwaysInstalled" with "neverinstalled" and save.

This is wonderful ... but I am also having trouble rewriting the Proof.xml file. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ... :)

Scratch that -- I figured it out.
Kept getting 'invalid path' messages, so I saved the rewritten XML file in a different location, then copied and pasted it into the Proof.en folder. Worked like a charm.

erm... on the next day, office all went blocked. I did nothing about preferences or somenting. Probably Microsoft updated the file from that link

It's better to see exactly what are you going to do because in my browser the path seems like Egyptian language

Well, all you have to do is uninstall and reinstall once a month - assuming nothing more crafty available.

Downloaded this file and it went thru the motions for a minute and the said the installation failed. It will not install!
