Seeding this, but have no clue how it works. I burned the nrg file, and I am trying to boot from external DVD to EEE but no luck, it keeps locking up mid way through, there is also a WINPE ISO within the NRG Image? Any direction would be greatly appreciated. Did this come with a new EEE with XP form the factor, or is it custom made?
I figured it out, you just have to change the OS installation option to "install" in the EEE Bios.
This is the recovery disc that comes with Windoze XP EEE PC's. You need to use an external USB DVD drive. While booting, hold down the esc key & then proceed to restore your EEE PC like you would with an XP restore disc. Hope this helps. Tuberok
great upload!
...i wonder though...

is it needed to have a CD-KEY or is the install selfcontent?
in the case of serialkey - what cdkey should be used? is it enough with a normal windows xp home oem cdkey?
Can anybody confirm if this works on an EEE 900, and if it requires a CD key?
How can I return to the actual Xandros Linux including program settings and updates after installing your Windows XP version ???
I did not find any hint how to do this, would like to test Win XP on my EEEPC but return to Xandros if WinXP does not run so smoothly.
i boot it from a external dvd drive, and it appears this message: "No fixed disk found!"
:/
what can i do? any help?

mine is a EEEPC 701
I have an EEE PC 701 & didn't need to type in a cd key. You can go back to Xandros Linux by using the restore DVD that came with your Linux EEE PC. Hope this helps.

Don't use this xp, my eee 900 is so slow that I can barely use firefox.. I have 2gb ram and it's still too slow...
Thank you Tuberok, works like a charm, one warning, not all dvd roms/burners are bootable,
found that out the hard way, when installed it took 2.5gb out of 4gb on my 4G eee pc 701
I have a EEEPC 900 and been trying a lot of XP-verisons for it. This is the deafault for a fast SSD but the 900 does have a rather slow one.

You can make this quite faster though.
On eeeuser.com You can find a lot of tweaks to make it run faster BUT the one that really makes it is to convert the SSD from NTFS to FAT 32. I used Partition Manager for this and the speed improvement was dramatic. With the othern tweaks I am quite happy with the speed and functions.

Do you have the same software for EEEPC 900 as well? Looks like there are some compatibility issues with this
