Val Waxman (Woody Allen) is a film director who was once big in the 1970's and 1980's, but has now has been reduced to directing TV commercials. Finally, he gets an offer to make a big film. But, disaster strikes, when Val goes temporarily blind, due to paranoia. So, he and a few friends, try to cover up his disability, without the studio executives or the producers knowing that he is directing the film blind.

Thanks for reducing it down in size, Pongy. :)
Forget my last comment. This is a FUCKING DREADFUL RIP! It's so blocky, this is like VHS quality. Thanks for wasting my time! What shit software did you use to convert this! I can't watch this shit!

I'll DL the DVD version and convert it myself and seed it. Watch this space.
Wow that's all the thanks I get. :(

This is a DVD rip I did from the retail DVD I purchased, done with Gordion Knot.

Ignore the idiot who posted above and enjoy this great movie.

I would appreciate GENUINE feedback from other downloaders.
THANKS!!!, I've been waiting for this for ages.

Audio and Video both 10/10
Pongydog - to be fair to you, that comment I made was very harsh, and I used some unnecessary and offensive language - I was disappointed in the quality after high hopes, but that is no excuse. For that I do apologise.
But this is a bad rip my friend. I remember my early attempts were as bad - it's a learning curve. Look, as soon as I have the DVD version, I'll do a rip myself, and show how nice the quality of DivX can be, even at 700MB!
Watch this space - and sorry again. Peace.
:)

Yes, because there is absolutely nothing wrong with this Rip. I'm certainly not new at this, I can tell a good rip from a bad one. I don't upload bad rips.
Fair enough. Maybe there was a fault on my download, which made it look really blocky and shit. Besides, it is subjective. Maybe what I consider to be pixelly and crap, you consider to be faultless, and I accept that. I won't hold the fact that you used Gordion Knot to rip it against you. Everyone has their own standards of what is good. You keep up the good work, I'm sure it's good enough for many people, and it's free after all, so good job my friend. :)
Small point: - you need to set your dimensions as factors of *16* for the best conversions with minimal artefacts, Pongydog. That's for height and for width also. You'll find you will get nicer results if you do this (e.g. 640 x 352, 720 x 400).
That's exactly what I did.

This rip is 640 x 352.

(I don't know why I'm still feeding the troll)
Idiot. Your rips speak for themselves. To call someone a 'troll' is just pathetic.
I had every right to complain, because when a person posts a movie on TPB, we take it on good faith that it's a decent rip, and we spend our time and bandwidth DL'ing it.
Yes, I was wrong to put it in those original terms, but since you've proved yourself to be a completely arogant prick, I can't say I'm sorry now.
My comment on your use of poor ratios was valid, I was not referring just to this individual post of yours.
You also clearly do not know the first thing about multi-pass encoding - hence the blocky artefact-laden crap you have posted here, and it's not even within 700MB! Come on - you give us this crap, and you have the audacity to call me a 'troll'?
I say again: Prick.
And BTW - I have NO interest in putting down your ups for the sake of it. I give good comments when due, and bad when due. I like to let others know how good something is in case they're interested, and also how bad something is, to save others time. I always comment on quality of ups AFTER I have watched them. I have no bias, only a love of quality rips. I judged yours to be bad. That's my opinion, posted on TPB, as that is what the comments section is for. Live with it.
I say again people ignore this troll.
"Troll?" Oh grow up.

My uploads are all standard 640 width, which is more than I can say about your own uploads. Let's have a look at a few examples...hmm..
720 x 400
640 x 352
400 x 300
Shame you haven't used your own advice with your own uploads! And why can't you decided on a sound formatt? 256kbps, 112kbps - what's wrong with the 128kbps standard that everyone else on the planet uses.

What a sad little boy you are.
DaveRip? more like ShitRip?
Your own uploads speak for themselves.

Like I said: Grow Up.

BTW. Don't confuse my actual rips with files I have shared that were not ripped by me.
As for the MP3 audio file size: You'll find that 112 kbps is very common for a mono (or 'forced stereo') movie soundtrack (many of Woody Allen's films are mono).

However, for a music based movie (e.g. music video, live concert) 256 or even 320 kbps can be more appropriate, where the sound is an important factor.

You asked 'What's wrong with 128 kbps' (although you phrased it in a typically immature fashion). Answer: absolutely nothing wrong at all, if it is appropriate, considering all factors.

And BTW: there is no 'standard' width. You're a Woody Allen fan (I assume) like me. Check out his other torrented movies, if you have them (I'm guessing like me you do). They vary incredibly. As with sound, there is no 'standard 'one size fits all' in that regard.

OK, I'll await your next immature attack.
My immature attack?

You're the one that started all this for no good reason. I have checked this rip, it is not pixelated or blocky. I can see this with my own eyes! I stand by this rip. I can appreciate that this comment section is meant for people to comment on quality of rips, it's a shame you have chosen to abuse this by attacking me for no good reason.

As I say I have checked the quality of this file and it is fine - end of discussion. I just hope that everyone enjoys this rip and no one has been put off by this stupid endless discussion.

This is my final comment, LezDawson you need to go and get your rocks off someplace else.

Continue this and I will be reporting you to the site owners.
WOAH Listen to these two guys argue.
Looks like LesDawson is an asshole I've downloaded this movie and I agree with Ponydog that it is ok. I've downloaded a lot of stuff and this looks the same as other movies. I'm a woody Allen fan too and I downloaded lots of the movies and lots of them look worse than this.

We are happy Pony!!!!!!!!!

(p.s I just looked at the stuff that Lesdawson put on the site and it's just music videos and even PORN!!!!) Can't we report him for porn!
lol, I only just noticed the Porn myself.
This guy is losing his credibility very quickly.
...and BTW it's Pongydog with a 'g'.
not Pony. But thanks anyway.
If it is fine, then I do apologise, and can only suggest that maybe there were errors when I DL'd it, causing problems on my DL, or maybe write errors when I burned it to disc. I disposed of it, but I'll grab it again.
I certainly have no intention of dissing people's ups for the sake of it (I have better things to do!) and after checking it out again I will be happy to post a full retraction! Now that 2 other people have said it is fine, I am genuinely concerned that I have got things badly wrong.

Oh, BTW Brian: - Porn is not banned from TPB.
SORRY PONGYDOG
----------------------
I have DL'd your rip again PD, and just watched a little on my PC. There is nothing wrong with it at all, as you and others said. It's a good rip.
I reckon it must have been badly written to disc when I burned it, cos when I watched it on my TV it was very blocky in places, to the extent that I had to give up watching. But having checked it now on my PC I realise the problem was not with your rip at all. Humble apologies.
LD.
O.K, glad we've resolved this.

What software were you using to convert it to DVD?
I HAD TO READ TO THE END OF THE THREAD TO KNOW IT WAS A GOOD RIP LOL
