Hey. If I ask polite, could I get some help with the speed i´m picking this up in?
Thanks a mil.
Thanks a mil.
I am running Vista x64 and I have managed to get the h2o release of SX3 working fine, no problems at all.
Here's how I did it.
Download latest version of Microsoft Virtual PC (it's free) http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en . At the time of posting this, it's VPC 2007 SP 1.
Create a virtual machine, and install windows XP on it. Update XP if you need to.
Once the virtual machine is running, install the VMAs from the Action menu. This will then let your virtual machine connect to real folders on your real hard drive, via a virtual network connection.
Once XP is installed and updated, install SX3.
It works a treat, along with all the VSTi and plugins I have.
Performance-wise, it's actually faster than XP used to run on my old AMD dual-core system. So, no problems there!
One thing I would recommend is to copy all your cubase stuff (projects and samples etc) to the virtual hard drive on the virtual PC, as read/write time over the virtual network to your real disk can be slow.
You might think that you would be better off creating a partition and having a dual boot, but the advantage of doing it this way is that you dont have to mess around installing audo / video drivers, and you can have your normal OS running at the same time as the virtual one.
It does work, so give it a go! GOOD LUCK!

Hey guys, it was opening fine, but then it gave me this error:
"Debug Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase SX 3\Cubasesx3.exe
Module:...Resources\EventRecorderHelpers\ReplacerPlugin\Pc\replacer.dll
File:
Run-Time Check Failure #0 - The value of ESP was not properly saved across a function call. This is usually a result of calling a function declared with one calling convention with a function pointer declared with a different calling convention."
PLEASE HELP MEEEE!!!!

I finally found the solution guys :) To Vista and XP 64 or 32 bit.
1) Get this torrent. It is Zipped up all it needs is just to extract, and as small as hell, no more downloading those bullshit 1gb Cubase Torrents.
http://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/4212016/Cubase_Studio_4.1.1_by_Antony_GR_(Portable___Non-Install_version
Then go here and Download the Asio4all Driver.
It wil Reduce Latency on Which All Midi Works.
Meaning if you use Ezdrummer as a trigger for your Electric Drums and have 1 Second delays, this is a MUST. Even if you dont have Edrums YOU MUST INSTALL IT.
http://www.asio4all.com/
Now for Ezdrummer.
Get this Torrent, it Includes Both the Ezdrummer Installation and the Drumkit from Hell which is 100 times better than the standard Ezdrummer Kit.
http://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/4565497/ToontrackEZdrummer1.1.1-Mac-and-PC-with-DKFH-Full_with_Serial
And Finally update Ezdrummer with this Patch, it will add a couple of new features in Ezdrummer and make a noticable sound fix to your drums.
http://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/3815569/EZ-Drummer_Update_1.1.1_-_PC_and_MAC_(Universal_Binary)
No more need to look here and there for shitty torrents that dont work on Vista. THIS IS THE SOLUTION FINALLY.

Sorry guys, this 64bit fiux doesn't work, I can't make it work at all.
To anyone else on x64 I recommend downgrading to Cubase SX2 (H2O version, naturally!). It's got all of the same functionalities as SX3 as far as I can tell, and doesn't have anyone of this licence problem or crashing bullshit.

I installed the VMAddons but I have no idea to install a VNC. So: How can I let my VM connect to real folders on my real hard drive via a virtual network connection?
