"Trading Places" is a song recorded by American R&B singer Usher. It was written by Usher Raymond, Carlos McKinney, and Terius Nash and produced by L.O.S. Da Maestro, with vocals produced by Kuk Harrell and with a guitar solo by Chris 'TEK' O'Ryan. It is the third single from Usher's fifth studio album, Here I Stand.

The video was shot at Venice, Los Angeles, California and was directed by Chris Robinson.

The song is about intimate role reversal, where Usher wants his woman to take control sexually. Usher says that the song "was totally inspired by the work of Prince ", and that, "The story is, like, wishful thinking for all men to have a woman who takes control and compliments us the way we compliment them."

Usher Raymond IV (born October 14, 1978), known simply by his first name Usher, is an American R&B and pop singer-songwriter and actor who rose to fame in the 1990s. To date, he has sold approximately 35 million albums worldwide and has won five Grammy Awards. Usher is a part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers franchise, and has his own record label, US Records. On September 13, 2008 Usher has been inducted into the All time Hot 100 Artist by Billboard. He is one of the few artists of his generation to be mentioned.
