Running Win 8. The game installed fine, worked perfectly at first; load times became excessive... the program says "Not Responding" in the Task Manager for a minute or two, then eventually works again. Irritating.
Here's the real problem: I played the game all the way until Alex and Ella have escaped into the sewer. There's a gate and a wheel crank you need to rotate.
Each time I click on the wheel to rotate it, it squeaks once and then Alex lets go, so I have to re-click on it. It opens, literally, about a quarter of an inch with every attempt.
IT FUCKING TOOK AN HOUR OR MORE TO OPEN THE GATE. Pressing the mouse button over and over and over... when it's halfway up, I can't duck under. When it's above my head, I can't go through. WHEN IT'S OPEN ALL THE WAY TO THE CEILING I STILL CAN'T GO THROUGH.
This glitch has made it impossible to play past this point. Did anybody else have this problem?

The game boots into a black screen while the sound keeps playing on my rig. I'll update as soon as I find a fix.

In update to my previous comment: I figured what was wrong with the video. The resolution wasn't set correctly so the screen just showed black. After I changed it the game displayed normally.

game tested on old 2008 laptop and on my 2010/2015 - parts pc and work normal Xp 32bit or 7 64bit no lag ,played 3h and all work no video or sound problem all ok - played this game 1st time (Such my 2 SH game after SH1 on psx) .
(Game have latest patch in files) also maybe the orginal crack from 2008 witch drm hack couse problem for some one (Dont know like i writed used after install new drm free from 2013 relese by prophet)
