From Valve (the creators of Counter-Strike, Half-Life and more) comes Left 4 Dead, a co-op action horror game for the PC and Xbox 360 that casts up to four players in an epic struggle for survival against swarming zombie hordes and terrifying mutant monsters.

Set in the immediate aftermath of the zombie apocalypse, L4D's survival co-op mode lets you blast a path through the infected in four unique “movies,” guiding your survivors across the rooftops of an abandoned metropolis, through rural ghost towns and pitch-black forests in your quest to escape a devastated Ground Zero crawling with infected enemies. Each "movie" is comprised of five large maps, and can be played by one to four human players, with an emphasis on team-based strategy and objectives. 

New technology dubbed "the AI Director" is used to generate a unique gameplay experience every time you play. The Director tailors the frequency and ferocity of the zombie attacks to your performance, putting you in the middle of a fast-paced, but not overwhelming, Hollywood horror movie.

ok people i got like 20 friends on my profile so add me and view my profile then add everyone on my friends list all those people are from pirate bay trying to play the pirate version of L4D if u have everything working add them and u will play online all day.

:::IMPORTANT TIP FOR ONLINE PLAY::: also to the people who cant figure out this is what u do after u got the Multiplayer patch. U log in on steam with your fake account then go to 'MY games" then click on add a none steam game then browse then add RUN_L4D.exe then launch and in game click Shift+Tab to see your friends and you r set for L4D online.

to host go to campaign click on'' play with friend'' make sure to make it local u cant make a dedicated server then u can set it to public or FRIENDS ONLY thanks.

noob... i already have this online patch but you can't join in decicaded servers with it and you must host every game by yourself
and its not working anymore so i need to know does this still work/does it work better than online patch...

This is just some idiot who has taken the Russian copy (http://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/4517095/Left_4_Dead_-_NoSteam) and put it together in one torrent with a help file more poorly written than Babel Fish's translation from Russian.

The crack has already been patched, although it is still possible to play on LAN by using the console.

From all the comments I've read on the sound pack that is included: it causes the game to crash frequently, although I haven't yet tried it myself.

This worked for me and a friend over hamachi:

1.Open Left4Dead dir>Left For Dead>cfg
2.Open Config and Config_default and change "bind "'" "toggleconsole"" in both of those (recomend open Config in wordpad or Word to get a better view)
3. Change the standard keys to eg F11 in both documents
4. Start game
5. Open the console with the key you chose
6. Write in the following commands:

sv_lan 0
z_difficulty (space) (easy, normal,hard, impossible)
net_start
map (and chose from dropdown "hospita"l is the first map)

The game should start by now. Open the console again and write:

sv_allow_lobby_connect_only 0

Now it's the persons who shall join turns to write in this in the console:

connect (space) (host ip)

The hosts ip is the hamachi ip worked for us with 1.0.3.0.

If this doesn't work, check that Hamachi is on the top in the network list by doing these steps:

For XP/2000: Start > Control Panel > Network Connections, then, on the menu bar, click Advanced > Advanced Settings and put Hamachi at the top of the list.

For Vista: Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center, then, on the left side panel, click on 'Manage Network Connections'. Now press Alt, click on Advanced > Advanced Settings and put Hamachi at the top of the list.
