Turbo Tax 2008 Home and Business Portabled by me 2 Folders are created with this app one is fonts for it the other is where you saved settings go. You can delete both or neither. No Viruses, black plague , trojans and their chariots or anything that might hinder your experience or enjoyment. This is an American style, tax form, helping program. Updates and connections have been turned off , you can turn them back on if you're are completely mad! https://turbotax.intuit.com/small-business-taxes/ FightingBigBrother Please seed freeing up Bandwidth :)

Usually with TurboTax, YOU NEED THE UPDATES. They pretty much update forms weekly for goofs or just plain errors. So disabling that is not a good idea.
But that's just my opinion ;)

Like I said above you can enable it I chose not to while installing and making it Portable . It your choice. It's in the options but if you delete the folder next to it you will lose any changed settings and it will default to no connections.
I have another look at it. I'm thinking I should have totally isolated the program, its probably looking for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 runtime files on your machine. Can you tell me if you have them or not and what OS u using? If not ,can you go grab them (they're useful to have for all sorts of progs) install, run the prog again and tell me if your still getting shit :)
Thanks
Thanks
I'm having the same problem as gobble3666. Same runtime error. I'm running XP Pro as my OS and I do not think I have the files you are mentioning. Any idea where I could get them? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
@gobble3666 I can only take a stab at the dark at this.
IMHO its yer 2005 runtime files .2005 should install NP. I will do another rebuild when I get 5 minutes ,'completely isolated version' which might work for you. That will encompass all files necessary. Just hope the prog will support it.

Ok here we go:
https://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/4654672
plus i updated it. If this don't work i'll upload a revamped DotNet1.1,2,3,3.5 plus SPs all in one (53Mb) as it needs DotNet2 but it should 'contain' it now. If that don't work send me a disposible GMail addy, in here, i'll rar my own folder and GMail it to you. Dam thing will not have me beat its only 1's and 0's.

What do you mean by portable?
IMO
Portable Applications:
1) Applications built in order to run on any machine via a USB key or USB HD.
2) Must be able to run independant of the OS(where possible)
3) Mustn't leave behind files or folders or change the host system
Further possible requirements:
4) Must be blue in color in order to match Windows color scheme
5)Apps mustn't be larger than 2 Terrabyte USB Hard Drive (No Portable Vista then)
6) Must be able to operate despite the Host is hogging all the memory running virus scans on the key.
7)Mustn't have a CDFS partition and upset Admins by running without permissions.
8)Applications must run from the key causing huge read/write, wear 'n' tear , thus killing the key dead at any given moment without any further chance of recovering your personnal Information.
Hope that sums it up for you ;)
