Windows XP Professional SP3 Difference Files

The differences with those versions are much greater, and my assumption
of course is that the power users here will only be interested in using
the full Pro version anyway. :)

Using WinMerge (http://winmerge.org/), I compared
three versions of Windows XP Pro SP3:
the Retail, Corporate, and OEM (Retail) versions.
(I do not use Home or Upgrade versions.)

The only differences were found in the I386 directory,
and they are included in this torrent.
This means you should be able to switch between versions of XP Pro SP3 by replacing these files, which could be handy if
you're slipstreaming an install disk. (These files won't turn an SP2 disc into an SP3 disc for example, but I hope that's clear already.)

ACC_DIS.CH_
ACCESSIB.CH_
IESUPP.CH_
IEWEBHLP.CH_
SUPP_ED.CH_
OEMBIOS.DA_
DPCDLL.DL_
PIDGEN.DLL
SETUPP.INI
OEMBIOS.SI_
EULA.TXT

Many discussions say that the only difference between versions
are the different Pid numbers in the SETUPP.INI file, but winmerge
shows that's not true. I won't discuss the differences between Windows versions
other than to say there is much confusion on the subject. You'll have to do
the research if you really want to know.

There are as many versions of Windows as there are licenses, (e.g., Academic licenses)
but I think these three versions should help most people.

If your OEM computer requires a specific disc tied to that machine's
OEM BIOS (BIOS-locked), these files likely will not solve your problem.
There are ways around that but it's a complicated subject and beyond the scope of this torrent.
