JaBack Features

Automate backups of your important data, files and folders.  The backup set is created in standard ZIP format.  This allows flexibility in restoring the data using any zip software to unzip the backup set.

Transfer your backup set to a remote location via FTP or Email it to your mail server.

Scheduler software is very easy to use, yet has very powerful scheduling, tasking and automation capabilities. 

Email Notification of task failure based on task exit code.

Local directory monitor allows you to backup data when a file/folder change is detected.

Zip files and directories using wildcards on schedule.  Can append date/time to filename for archive purposes.

JaBack Windows Install instructions

This install has been tested on 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, NTserver, 2000server & 2000AdvServer, Vista

Installing for the first time (new user of JaBack)
(Important: 256 color display required)

1. Click on the installer executable (jaba.exe) to install.  


Upgrading from previous versions


1.  Windows users: If you are using the NT service, stop the JaBack NT service from the Service Control Manager.

2.  Backup your data from the File menu of JaBack (safety precaution).

3.  Shutdown the JaBack scheduler engine and user interface. 

4.  Click on the installer (jaba.exe) to upgrade



64 Bit Install instructions

64 Bit and other special windows configuration require Java 1.5. 


For 64 Bit windows, do the following:

1) install the software using our native .exe installer (or Java .zip installer)

2) Go to the main software install folder (automize7 or ableftp7 or jasftp7 or autokrypt7 etc..)

3) Delete the jre subfolder if it exists.

4) Download Java 1.5.

5) Unzip the archive.  A 'jre' folder will be created.

6) Copy this 'jre' folder to the main install folder.

7) Startup the software
