(Problems with magnets links are fixed by upgrading your torrent client!)
You need this converter in order to use Garmin Unlock by "Who Cares". It also converts the mapset into the faster and more efficient mapset of Mapsource 6.13.17. If you just want the image file, you don't need to go through this hassle. But the latest Mapsource is really slow and the new 2009 v.10 and higher install the fucked up Mapsource app. I would've posted the link (below) in the comments section for this converter but TPB won't allow me to post the link, so I have it included in this small file. Unfortunately, the instructions are in Dutch or German. Google wouldn't allow me to just copy the translated portion so I included just the original with links so you can use the google translation yourself to read in English....or some of you may be able to figure it out on your own. The main site is here which would save you downloading this torrent: http://members.ziggo.nl/zumo/cne2009_multilang.html "When you install City Navigator Europe NT 2009 (or a nüMaps Lifetime update for this map), MapSource 6.14.1 or 6.15.3 will be installed too. 6.14.1 is much slower than 6.13.7; on an older PC it might even be unworkable (not to mention the ugly distortion of the maps). 6.15.3 is faster than 6.14.1, but this version has some nasty bugs. (And it's still slower than 6.13.7) The problem is that MapSource 6.13.7 cannot use these maps, because the files have a new format (actually the same as RoadTrip for Mac OS X uses). Some members of the German forum Naviboard.de found a solution to convert the new files to the format that MapSource 6.13.7 uses. Their solution is not so easy to use, so I created the program MapReverseConverter to make te conversion process easier (the actual conversion is done by the program GMaptool, the same as the Naviboard solution). MapReverseConverter is an universal program, not only for City Navigator Europe NT 2009, but for any map in the new format. MapReverseConverter does not only convert the maps, it (optionally) installs MapSource 6.13.7 (and POILoader, MapInstall, UnlockWizard) too. After the conversion process you will have two sets of maps on your PC, the original and the converted one. If you want, you can remove the original files, preferrably through the Control Panel of Windows. Newer versions of MapSource still work with the converted maps, so upgrading MapSource is always possible. With every update of nüMaps Lifetime you will need to run MapReverseConverter again. Why is it called 'MapReverseConverter'? RoadTrip for Mac OS X cannot use maps in the old format. For getting these maps to work with RoadTrip you need to use Garmin's program 'MapConverter', which converts map files to the new format. My program does the reverse, hence the name." If anyone wants to edit the contents of this file and repost it, go ahead. I just don't have the time.

Nope...that unlocker didn't work for me....at least not on the PC. Map was still locked and that's why those gurus in Germany created this. ;)
Oh, I should clarify...that unlocker bat file worked flawlessly until I installed 2009.11. With 2009.11 it also installed 6.15. the bat file couldn't even see the files even though I put it in in the application directory (doc settings\application data\). It couldnt see them so it couldnt unlock them.
What I plan to do is use this converter on the desktop version of NT 2010.10 and Europe 2010 as well (if it ever finishes downloading).

Everyone, can u please post your success or failure using this converter. I just tried to copy a small img file onto my SD card that was converted using the map converter and my Nuvi didn't see it.
Many thanks!! This converter worked fine with me.. I've used it with 2010.10 USA and Europe maps... Thanks again..
This is a nice Tool, but the real credits go to Popej the author of the famous Gmaptool http://www.anpo.republika.pl/download.html
the Reversemapconverter is just a GUI with a limited functionality for Gmaptool. But of course this makes use a lot easier. But Gmaptool can do a lot more! Have a look at it.

To those who's this tool's been successful, what device did u download the image file too? The underground forum is down for a while now.
Works great once you have found out where the new format maps hide. In my case: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\GARMIN\Maps\
Mine works now....apparently if your Nuvi detects a duplicate mapset (same number) it won't display. That was my problem and now this map converter works with the unlock.rar file. :)
You my friend are a Godsend! Thank you!!! Worked perfectly on XP SP3 with CityNavigator Europe NT 2010.1
