This is exactly why I despise image files for Garmin cuz you have a hard time unlocking them and Garmin Unlocker won't work on them unless it's installed on Mapsource.

However, with the newest Jetmouse and FID, you should be able to unlock the maps from your Nuvi even from image files. The advantage of image files is that you just have to copy the image file onto your device. I'd rather have the entire mapsource...just my preference.

You copy the gmapsupp.unl file to the Garmin directory on your sd card and the thailand gmapsupp.img file to the same directory, then they will work make sure you don't have a .txt file extension and don't change the names or extend them it is important.
