(Problems with magnets links are fixed by upgrading your torrent client!)
This is the latest ffmpeg as of May 23rd. It has been compiled with many options and is statically linked. This means you can use this without having to have installed any compilers, downloaded the source, installed any additional codecs, etc. Just uncompress and move to /usr/local/bin. This was built on ubuntu 8.04. Tested on 9.04 too.

I made this to aid people who want to try to use encode-handheld.pl but do not have the skills necessary to compile their own version of ffmpeg.

It is linked against this version of x264 (compiled same time)

x264 --version
x264 0.67.1153 7b6ce6a
built on May 23 2009, gcc: 4.2.4 (Ubuntu 4.2.4-1ubuntu3)

Hello,

is there any tutorial on the web on how this was done? I've tried this myself to compile ffmpeg that is statically linked and with all the options, but with no success. And a tutorial to do this thing is nowhere to be found.

Thanks, X.
Would this work on Ubuntu 9.10 ? That's what I'm running. I'll try it anyway though.
Ther IS 1 seeder but my torrent hasn't caught a down speed rating since half an hour.
Instructions on HOW to use this would also do good. I'm sorry. I'm a noob.
