I apologize to you, kennykillerkoala, and completely agree with you, however, I must bring your attention to my case.

I came to Australia in 1999, and have refused to take the passport, I worked solidly and adapted and learnt the ropes.... today...after studying for 5 years...I received a PHD diploma in LAW and Engineering...I majored in LAW, and have a fantastic career ahead of me.
Most of my cases (if not all) are with 'White' Australians, with whom I converse on an hourly basis, and meet every evening for dinner, we chat, and talk, and enjoy ourselves, some of whom have become lifelong friends...some of whom could not do without me.

Indeed...the reason I have, year in year out, refused citizenship is albeit a question of respect, for a country so great, that I could never take someone else's place in the mile-long queue for a passport.

granted it gives me hardship, however, I should be pleased to tell you that, as a married Lebanese man (to an 'Anglo-Saxon' Aussie) I have lived my life happily and have never complained.

I believe the answer lies in improving the 'bad areas of lebanon' so they do not replicate here in Australia... by helping Lebanon, you rid yourself of the ROOT OF THE CAUSE...so, perhaps, if you may find it in you.. give a Leb a wave, maybe a warm handshake, you might be surprised!
