   state. The Missouri probation board consists of seven members appointed by
   the governor. One or more board members conduct face-to-face interviews with
   inmates to determine if they should be allowed to serve the remainder of
   their sentences on the street. The program profiles three inmates as they
   face the board: Christopher McKee, 26, is serving 7 years for two counts of
   statutory rape; Alva Rasa, 22, is serving 14 years for burning two churches
   when he was 18; and Byron Smith, 34, is serving 5 years for failing to pay
   child support.
