I found there was a DVD ripper on it (in the capture menu). Have you ever ripped DVDs with it? How do you get around the disc protections? I got a message that the disc was CSS protected.

I had an older version of ulead that did it. The trick is to rip the DVD onto the hard drive using DVD Shrink (free download) then use ulead to cut up and save the DVD to multiple formats.
