Declan Fitzpatrick is een aan Harvard afgestudeerde advocaat die zijn leven drastisch verandert als hij een plantage koopt. Vlak nadat hij hoort dat het er spookt, begint hij geluiden te horen en ziet hij onverklaarbare dingen. Hij krijgt hulp van een vrouw die er in haar jeugd heeft gewoond met haar grootmoeder.
