Directed by: Neil Jordan
Starring: Colin Farrell, Alicja Bachleda, Stephen Rea, Alison Barry

“Ondine” is the story of an Irish fisherman who discovers a woman in his fishing net who he believes to be a mermaid Written and Directed by Neil Jordan and starring Colin Farrell as Syracuse, a simple fisherman who catches a beautiful and mysterious woman in his trawler’s nets. The woman seems to be dead, but then she comes alive before Syracuse’s eyes and he thinks he may be seeing things. However, with the help of his ailing, yet irrepressible daughter, Annie, he comes to believe that the fantastical might be possible and that the woman (Ondine) might be a myth come true. Ondine and Syracuse fall passionately in love, but just as we think the fairytale might go on forever, the real world intercedes. Then, after a terrible car crash and the return of a dark and violent figure from Ondine’s past, hope eventually prevails and a new beginning is presented to Syracuse.

NOTE: 272p = frame-size 480x272 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio, playable on all kinds
             of MP4 capable devices/players/playback systems
      360p = frame-size 640x360 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio, middle-format, playback
             as for 272p (except streaming)
      480p = frame-size 720x480 pixels for 16:9 aspect ratio (TV) or 720x304
             for 2.35:1 (movies/theatrical AR)
      720p = frame-size 1280x720 pixels for 16:9 aspect ratio (TV) or 1280x544
for 2.35:1 (movies/theatrical AR), hardware intensive

Most problems people have with frame-sizes 1280x720 (720p). I recommend
and use one system for years - CoreCodec for H264 and part of DivX7 for AAC.
Both are proved perfect, fastest and provide seamless playback up to 1080p
on new generation of computers. Newer NVIDIA graphic CPU decode H264
using dedicated subroutines directly served from CoreCodec (I have ATI card,
just in case you've asked yourself).

Any problems one can have come from wrong playback system, malfunctioning
      device or lack of knowledge.
For instance, any so called "jerky" playback of "system-heavy" 720p comes
from insufficient CPU and graphic engine power or simply - overloaded
computer. Use of ddshow filters and "codecs" is suicidal. This is not
Russian 720p Matroska format ("official" 720p) and completely different
setup is required (extremely high bit-rates of .mkv 720p to some extension
"hide" bad encoding style). In low bit-rate H264, such as mine,
those errors and bad technique cannot be hidden and therefore are avoided as
      much is possible.

Any blurriness of video comes from less-than-recommended media player. VLC
and few other players are most versatile and good - but quality is 10-20%
      lower.
Any block-ness comes from "system-too-slow" situation, when decoding engine
of one's device become over-capacitated and cannot process all frames as it
      supposed.
On "I have no video" and "I have no sound" I don't waste my time.

MP4 is absolutely ISO 14496-1 compliant. There is no B-frames, no CABAC
entropy in 272p and 360p, no strange filtering and no AV weirdness
      of any kind.

Recommended resolution for computers is 1024x768 (no matter frame-size).
PS3 + HDMI cable + newer TV have been reported as best combination.
I am very proud on sound quality and hence I recommend use of stereo system
and proper loudspeakers (connect Line Out of Soundcard or standalones
with Line In of any Stereo rack).

I encode H264 for six years and I have experienced (first-hand) any problem
one might have or imagine. I have heard almost every ‘complaint’ out there
and would, if asked POLITELY, be happy to answer questions and give as much
      help as humanly possible
      I always have.

awsm stuf . thanx alot sir . :)
hey, 2040. are you going to upload the 'red dead redemption' tv special this weekend? that'd be awesome.
thank you !!!
thank you
...and I thank you too.
Hope you are having a good day.
Salute.
@houruoha: Yes, absolutely... and all encoding settings derived/connected to B-frames.
Well havn't seen this but it reads like my cup of guiness...Thanks Fella
:-)
@pluto999: I did. Anyone persistent enough can still find my articles all around the net. My software too. Unfortunately, my two sites are down, one went history three years ago and one get down last year, when ownership of domain couldn't be payed by me anymore. Hosting cost money, and honestly, I go to bed hungry, almost every day.
And what is more important, I do not have energy or motives to do so anymore.
I started to watermark my releases just half year ago, when people made serious money by uploading my stuff on MU, RS and HF and on few places else, earning the bucks-for-clicks just by that.
I never have profited money-wise even by one cent, never ever.
And - few people thanked and hundredths have insulted me on any way imaginable.
Very nicely written and explained. I admire the time and effort to educate. I've played mp4 movies with my Media Player HC, standalone even, and they all work perfectly.

I'm learning about mp4 and mkv more and more, because I like the small sizes and my bandwidth allowance is limited. So, many thanks, and will visit your pages daily.

I apologize for the uncouth and rude behavior of those who did not appreciate your fine work and effort. I've been in the same boat many times. Still, they say the World is a better place because of us. But like you, sometimes I doubt. I just don't see it, if you know what I mean.
