SINOPSIS
Estamos en la última etapa del imperio romano, y el viejo y sabio Marco Aurelio intenta alterar la sangrienta historia local volviendo a Roma a su status original de república. Para eso nombra como sucesor a su protegido Livio, en desmedro de su ambicioso y corrupto hijo Cómodo. A éste no le parece el nombramiento y toma cartas en el asunto para apoderarse del trono.
