this type of music REALLY benefits from being in Lossless format, like FLAC or APE.
This music is quite complex, lossy encoding just doesn't do this collection justice.

I agree this kinda music needs to be at the very least flac since flac is lossless and mp3 is lossy. Difference!

Also I would like to comment that it's written kb/s (symbol for kilobits per second), not kbps (symbol? for kilobits pico- second, which doesn't make sense) or any other form. I the slash couldn't be used for some reason (very few cases), it could be written without it.

k = kilo
b = bit
p = per ('/' is the symbol for 'per')
s = second
Both "kbps" and "kb/s" are equally correct. The slash/'per' can also never be left out, as that would imply "kilobitseconds", which is not a unit for transfer speed.
