Please seed! Come on now, how hard can it be to leave a comment? The Spotnicks is an instrumental rock group from Sweden, who were formed in 1961. They were famous for wearing "space suit" costumes on stage, and for their innovative electronic guitar sound. They have since released 42 albums, selling more than 18 million records, and still tour. The Spotnicks originated from Bo Starander and Björn Thelin's duo "The Rebels" (1956), who later became "Rock-Teddy and The Blue Caps", a group formed in 1957 in Gothenburg now with guitarist Bo Winberg (born 27 March 1939) in the band as well as Bo Starander (born 11 March 1942) (rhythm guitar), and Björn Thelin (born 27 June 1942) (bass guitar). In 1958 they added Ove Johansson (drums), changed their name to "The Frazers", and began playing regularly in local clubs. They signed a recording contract in 1961, and changed their name to "The Spotnicks", a play on the Russian satellite Sputnik as suggested by their manager, Roland Ferneborg. Starander was later known as Bob Lander. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spotnicks http://www.spotnicks.net/uk/index_uk.htm The Spotnicks Collection - The Spotnicks This compilation 1992 (original recordings) 01 The Spotnicks Collection - Orange Blossom Special 02 The Spotnicks Collection - Cape Kennedy 03 The Spotnicks Collection - Amapola 04 The Spotnicks Collection - Johnny Guitar 05 The Spotnicks Collection - Telstar 06 The Spotnicks Collection - Joey's Song 07 The Spotnicks Collection - Walking Back to Happiness 08 The Spotnicks Collection - Space Walk 09 The Spotnicks Collection - Ghostriders in the Sky 10 The Spotnicks Collection - Drina (Mars Na Drini) 11 The Spotnicks Collection - Bach Goes to Sea 12 The Spotnicks Collection - Diamonds 13 The Spotnicks Collection - In the Mood 14 The Spotnicks Collection - I Remember You 15 The Spotnicks Collection - Anna 16 The Spotnicks Collection - Old Faithful 17 The Spotnicks Collection - Havah Nagila 18 The Spotnicks Collection - One Has My Name 19 The Spotnicks Collection - Spanish Gypsy Dance 20 The Spotnicks Collection - If You Could Read My Mind 21 The Spotnicks Collection - Happy Guitar 22 The Spotnicks Collection - From Russia With Love 23 The Spotnicks Collection - Lovesick Blues 24 The Spotnicks Collection - Valentina (Save the Last Dance) 25 The Spotnicks Collection - Hey Good Looking 26 The Spotnicks Collection - Busted 27 The Spotnicks Collection - Alabamy Bound 28 The Spotnicks Collection - Karelia 29 The Spotnicks Collection - Hang On 30 The Spotnicks Collection - The Spotnicks Theme

I have all the Spotnicks UK chart entries in MP3 true stereo, not joint, and was pleased to see this. I downloaded it only to find that it sounds as if they are all different versions, or re-recordings.
Mine came from several compliation CDs.
Spotnicks - Just Listen To My Heart actually sounds as if it is played at a different speed on this compilation.
Not sure what is going on, I can't accept that all mine are wrong. however this does say original recordings.
Just one of those things I suppose.

Well, I can only say that both the CDs with The Spotnicks I’ve uploaded states that they are only original recordings. I’ve listened to the Spotnicks for many years and find absolutely no reason to believe that they are not the original recordings. I know that the group made some re-recordings and they were released as “Charttoppers†recorded 1977. (They might be released under various names since then).
I’ve downloaded some Spotnicks material myself, which is in various mp3 quality. They can have a difference in sound. If that depends on the original quality of the CD or the ripping process is difficult to say. Compilations can be a nightmare since the quality on them can be from very good to very poor.
I hope you will enjoy my uploads and the special sound of The Spotnicks.
