"I Wouldn't Be a Man" is the title of a song written by Mike Reid and Rory Michael Bourke. Originally recorded by Don Williams, it has also been released as a single by Billy Dean, and covered by Josh Turner. Williams's version of the song was a Top Ten country hit in late 1987–early 1988, and Dean's version also charted.

In late September 2010, Universal Music Group Nashville announced that Josh Turner's version of the song would be the third single from his album Haywire. He began filming the music video for it on September 27, 2010, under the direction of Peter Zavadil. The song debuted at number 56 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart the week of November 13, 2010.

Haywire is the fourth studio album by American country music singer Josh Turner. It was released on February 9, 2010 via MCA Nashville and debuted at number five on the U.S. Billboard 200, and number two on the Top Country Albums, selling 85,000 copies. The album's lead-off single, "Why Don't We Just Dance," was a Number One hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. The second single, "All Over Me," debuted on the chart at #59 for the week of April 24, 2010. As with his previous three studio albums, Turner worked with producer Frank Rogers. The album's third single "I Wouldn't Be a Man" released to country radio on October 25, 2010.

The album's first single is "Why Don't We Just Dance." Written by Jim Beavers, Darrell Brown and Jonathan Singleton, it was released to radio on August 12, 2009, and became his third Number One hit in February 2010. Following it on the album is "I Wouldn't Be a Man," which was originally a Top Ten hit for Don Williams in 1987, and was also a minor chart hit nine years later by Billy Dean.

The deluxe edition includes live recordings of Turner's previous singles "Long Black Train" and "Your Man," two other bonus songs, and the music video for "Why Don't We Just Dance."

Joshua Otis "Josh" Turner (born November 20, 1977) is an American country music singer and actor. Signed to MCA Nashville Records in 2003, Turner has released four studio albums for the label. The first of these was 2003's Long Black Train, whose title track was his breakthrough single release. 2005's Your Man accounted for his first two Number One hits: "Your Man" and "Would You Go with Me," while 2007's Everything Is Fine included a #2 in "Firecracker." Haywire, released in 2010, produced his biggest hit, the #1 "Why Don't We Just Dance." Overall, Turner has charted ten times on the Billboard country singles charts, with all but one of his singles reaching Top 40 or higher.
