Here is the awesome vertical shooter Tyrian 2000, gifted free this holiday season to all members of Good Old Games (GOG.com). Enjoy this DRM-free release, working on the latest Windows operating systems (XP/Vista/7)!

What's cool about it:
    * Classic, oldschool and just awesome vertical schooter gameplay at its best.
    * Gameplay mechanics that are easy to learn but hard to master.
    * Ship Editor - create your own ship and rule the skies.

Please support GOG.com and their effort to revive classic PC gaming without DRM-bullshit by visiting their site, buying some games (all games priced $6-10!), and spreading the news!

Cheers mateys!

2. Run the game using the Desktop shortcut.

NOTE: This game, to make it compatible with the latest OS, uses DosBox, a DOS-emulator. To get the game to work properly, use the installed shortcut!

It's free, why they sell it? Before they decide to give it as a gift was it on sale? I cam d/l from Abandonia legally.
I can*
It is free...they aren' trying to sell it. Other classic PC games on GOG.com are for sale but this game was free as a holiday gift.
You get this game free after signing up at GOG, along with three other games: Teen Agent, Beneath A Steel Sky... and some other game with a long title.
@ chrispm84 I wasn't trying to be the most unknown person on the planet (that Buzz Killington that you mention), my question made sense.
