Bud Spencer, pseudoniem van Carlo Pedersoli is een Italiaanse filmacteur. Hij maakte vooral furore in het genre spaghetti western, waarin hij vaak een duo vormde met landgenoot en collega-acteur Terence Hill. 

Zonder Hill heeft Spencer eind jaren '70 en begin jaren '80 een aantal succesvolle films gemaakt. Later komt hij met de Big Man reeks, waarin hij respectievelijk als detective Jack 'Extralarge' Costello en als Jack 'Big Man' Clementi de strijd aan gaat met de misdaad. 



Boomerang

Big Man wordt ingehuurd door Stynx, een koploper op het gebied van technologische bewapening. De fabriek is nu bezig de laatste hand te leggen aan een dodelijk wapen: de USR een geweer dat gebruik maakt van straling die niet door obstakels uit koers gebracht kan worden dankzij een computer gestuurd traceer systeem. het prototype van het geweer is gestolen door een criminele bende, maar ze zijn er niet in geslaagd het traceer systeem te stelen. 

An Unusual Insurance 

De vice-voorzitter van Lloyd's Internationaal, Winterbottom, is er achter gekomen dat de Siciliaanse maffia een aantal drugstransporten heeft weten te verzekeren en belt Jack Clementie de ex-hoofdinspecteur en nu privédefectieve, om de zaak op te lossen. Omdat hij zo groot is, wordt Jack 'Big Man' genoemd en zijn bijnaam 'professor' dankt hij aan zijn nieuwsgierige instelling. Clementi begint zijn ondezoek in Rome en krijgt informatie van hoofdinspecteur Caruso, een oude vriend die voor Criminalpol werkt.

Synopsis: The vice-president of Lloyd’s International, Winterbottom, knowing that the Sicilian mafia has been able to insure some drug shipments, calls Jack Clementi, ex police captain and now private detective, to solve the case. For his great size Jack is called ‘Big Man’ while the nickname ‘professor’ was given to him for his investigative keenness. Clementi starts his research in Rome using some information from captain Caruso, an old friend who works for the Criminalpol. Jack is able to infiltrate himself in the mafia organization and during a trip as carrier he meets Suriciddu, an 8 year old boy who does the middleman for the heroine delivery. After discovering how the criminals manage to insure the drug, ‘the professor’ goes back to Sicily to get little Suriciddu who is prisoner of the mafia . . .
