Really nice A/V quality, unfortunately ruined by
the encoder choosing to artificially stretch the
original image ratio to fill a 16.9 screen. Why
some people prefer distorted/elongated images
over the correct A.R. just to lose the black bars
baffles me.

I don't know what you are watching but the aspect ratio of this is 2.39:1 not 10:9. It even says in the file info above that it is encoded at 1280x536. If it is playing for you at 1280x720 then that is your fault for having your media player setting messed up and not the fault of the encoder.
