I have downloaded this but was wondering if I just put it in a DVD at it is (in .cdr format) Will my mac boot from it at startup?

What a lifesaver this torrent was! This works 100% perfect on a 17" 2.3GHz early-2011 model Macbook Pro.

Easy to do...

*Use Disk Utility to burn to a DL-DVD.
*Boot to DVD by holding 'C' key, then pressing power button. Release 'C' key after the dark gray Apple symbol appears on the light gray startup screen.
*Install.
*Run Software Update (takes 6-7 times through to finish).
