I tried working with above method but it is keep asking me serial number and then telling me subscription fail. I have 32BIt Windows Vista.

I tried the above method with changing the hosts file and I still haven't had much luck - it still asks me to log into my adobe account, and when I do it tells me the subscription has failed. However, the trial number isn't ticking down and photoshop still starts up, so I think I might just pretend it isn't an issue for now.

first time install worked fine. But then i had to re-install and it does not let me launch because it cannot access my adobeID

extract, go to folder CS5 activation DLL, extract ..
there two files inside amtlib.dll and amtlib(2).dll,, first one is for 32 bit, the second one for 64 bit..
copy and paste whichever amitlib.dll file into adobe directory in program files, replace original file,,

64 bit people rename amitlib(2).dll to amitlib.dll..
plz check file name..

I replaced the .dll, copy and pasted the host file alteration, input a serial number for validation...i installed, however since I changed the host file when I go to startup and finish validation it says, "connect to the internet and press continue" and i keep pressing continue and it doesn't register me as being online, though I am and have internet connection. Help?

Adobe will always try to test your CD keys. You have to block them from doing that. A method mentioned MANY times in the comments is to block using the hosts file.
