Dave Alvin (born November 11, 1955, in Downey, California), is a guitarist, singer and songwriter. Dave and his older brother Phil grew up in a music-loving family in Downey, California. As teenagers, they regularly attended blues, rockabilly, and country night clubs where they saw performances by greats like T-Bone Walker, Big Joe Turner, and Lee Allen, who later joined Dave and Phil in The Blasters. In 1979 Dave and his brother formed roots rock group The Blasters with fellow Downey, California residents Bill Bateman and John Bazz. I had these albums on vinyl and then on cassettes that I recorded from the orginal vinyls. Alas the years managed to take their toll on both and I never managed to replace them until now.
So again: thank you VERY much for the upload. This is utterly CLASSIC music and music that NEEDS to be HEARD and SHARED!

This is really nice! They were the hardest down-to-earth-american-rockers big time! Bought a cassette for less than a dollar twenty years ago, thats when I discovered them.
The Blasters feed my lusty soul... thanks for this indulgence!
