If, like me, you've seen Akira lots of times with the original English dub then, yes, it does seem a little odd to hear it with the newer dub, but I can't see why people put it down.
Both dubs have their flaws and levels of 'cheesiness', but hearing a new version gives the movie a facelift.
For the file size, the video quality is excellent.

he guys. question, i would probably prefer to watch the jap audio version than dubby coz they generally distracting when mouth moves at different speeds and stuff, is there an english subs for this included??
For some reason this won't play on Divx player. I'm really new to torrents, can anyone give me directions to how I can get this playing on the comp? Whether it be a player, or some little something in the settings, or just a link to instructions on what to do, anything would be appreciated.

The 1991 dub is FUCKING horrible. The 2001 dub isn't cheesy at all and is actually very well done. The Japanese dub is amazing as well.

i've got this on VHS from back in the day and watched it acouple of times but then when i watched it on DVD the whole script of the movie has changed i wish the version on DVD/BLU RAY is the same as the one on VHS i prefer VHS version...watch it if u don't believe me...i know my manga......thanks for the upload

Ok I was doing some research and if what I read was correct Signature Series on the top of the DVD cover are the original Dubbed version. That wold mean the one on this link http://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/7709662/Akira_%5B1988%5D_%281080p%29 would be original dub.
For those having issues watching. You could also try media player classic if VLC isn't working for you.

This is fuckin's awesome shit! Great rip dude.
Good rip, crappy movie. Obviously director were only interested in destruction of Tokio, and cool telekinetic ability, but you can't make whole movie about it, so he added a whole bunch of dull characters, insipid child story, complicated military thinking and procedures, and "realistic" motor gang fights of 2019 where they throw grenades on overpopulated streets like it's not their first time, and get off from moving bike on their feet. And scenes with teddy bears with snake-hands and guts spilling out of blue is not result of bold artistic thinking, more like result of unsoundness of mind. I mean world war 3? Yeah, quit dreaming, and start creating godzilla.
