This is the GOG.com revised version of the final game in the Zork series... Zork Grand Inquisitor. In short what this means is that it installs and plays on modern Windows operating systems, including Windows 7 (I'm personally running it on Win7 64-bit) without requiring DOSBox or tweaking! The reason I'm seeding it is because it was a bit difficult to find the GOG version of this game online, and since I appreciated it I figure you guys will too... Have included a walkthrough in case anyone gets stuck. Enjoy! Zork: Grand Inquisitor is the last installment of the famous Zork adventure series. It uses the same formula as its predecessor: first-person perspective, 360 degree camera rotation, pre-rendered backgrounds, and live actors. Humor and comical pop-culture references accompany you throughout the entire game and guarantee that you will never get bored. My personal review is that ZGI is even better than Return to Zork, which itself was badass. One piece of advice... the installer gives you the option to launch the game after installation. If you try, it'll give you an error (because it needs administrative privs to launch). Just close out the installer (uncheck the launch checkbox) and *then* run the game like you would normally, from its own shortcut.
Correction, it's not a checkbox. It gives you two buttons, "Launch" on the right and "Exit Installer" on the left... click on the Exit Installer button.
There are some quirky things you have to get used to (at least this is how it is on my PC), so I'll share them to help avoid headaches/frustration:
The inventory/spell menus don't come up like they're supposed to when you drag your mouse to the top-right and top-left of the screen like the instruction book says (though the save/restore/prefs/quit menu in the center does), not sure if that's a GOG edition thing or not. Right-clicking the mouse brings up the inventory screen with the spell book, or you can press F5 for inventory and F6 for the spell book.
When you go to a teleporter you have to have the map in your hand already, or you'll have to back-up (a "back" arrow near the bottom-right of the screen), access your inventory and get the map, and then go back to the teleporter. For some reason it doesn't let you access your inventory at the teleporter itself. Weird.
If I come across any other quirks, I'll post 'em!
