This is a full resolution, high profile x264 DVD rip of The X-Files - Season 6 (of 9).

-----------------------
THE X-FILES - SEASON 6
-----------------------
Episodes 1-22

Source: DVD Rip
Constant Quality Rate Factor(CRF) of 19

VIDEO:
Container: MKV
Codec: x264
Resolution: 720 x 480 (16:9 widescreen)
fps: 23.976

AUDIO: English, Dolby Digital 2-channel AC3 (audio untouched from DVDs)

SUBTITLES: English subrip srt in MKV. (note: you can turn subs on or off)

ENCODING SETTINGS:
CRF 19, Ref=8, bframes=8, me=umh, Subme=10, Me_range=32, Trellis=2, b_pyramid=2, b_adapt=2, direct=3, weightb=1, weightp=2, rc_lookahead=100, mixed_ref=1

Please seed when you are done so I can move on to seeding the next season. A good rule of thumb is to upload at least as much as you've downloaded (1 to 1 ratio)...thanks!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CRF encoding maintains a constant quality across episodes by adjusting the required file size (bit-rate) to maintain the desired quality. Some scenes/episodes need a higher bit-rate than others. CRF...file sizes never too little and never too much...constant high quality across the board.
The high profile x264 settings provide greater compression, while maintaining the crf-19. i.e. CRF-19 at lower x264 settings would have the same quality, but would result in larger files.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~NO: 350mb no matter what files, x-vid video, mp3 audio.
~Always: Untouched ac3 audio, full resolution video, high-profile x264 settings, Larger files (only) when needed.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for The X-Files, meech ^_^. Any plans on doing the whole series for psp/ipod (something like 400 Kbps video, 96 or 128 Kbps audio)?
thank you
finally, an encoder with a brain.
you know what you're doing and screw those
who fail to understand how the end product is perfect.

x-files.603.notitle-rlsgrp.mkv (who cares)
s06e03 Correct Episode Title.mkv (yours, thanks!)

it's idiotic to think assigning a fixed filesize will mean a fixed quality, as explained by the uploader. i also use a CQ or fix the Qf at something good, for x264.
this release is perfect: exact dvd quality without shrinking the mkv size too much.

The x-files movie, "Fight the Future" is now up. You can find it here: https://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/6909738

The events in this movie apparently take place between seasons 5 and 6.
Tricycle515: Thanks for noting that. When I first started encoding/posting, I used a fixed file size. I would try out some sample episodes with crf 18.5 or 19 to see what the average file size had to be, in order to get it to that quality. It usually varied from 550 to 600mb (much bigger than the 350mb standard). I would then pick the average size and encode every episode at that same size.

Overall, the quality was better than the 350mb xvid version. However, it was wasting bits on some episodes and still not using enough bits on other episodes. But I just didn't think downloaders would take to varied file sizes. But for my past 8 or so uploads, I've used stricly crf encoding. It makes so much more sense. It's much quicker (only needs one pass instead of two), and gives you a predictable quality across every encode. The "scene" is already releasing current hd tv shows, that were made using crf. So if it's good enough for them it's good enough for everyone else.

Truth be told, it should've been this way from the start. Yes, it may seem strange to see one episode at 332mb and then another at 720mb in the same season. But believe it or not, they are the same exact quality thanks to x264 crf encoding. If I were to have used 550mb for each episode, the 720mb one would be lacking quality and the 332mb would be a waste of bits and size. Anyway, I'm rambling. It's nice to see a downloader who appreciates it all.
Great job tanks a lot.
@ maqui211 there already are a few psp/ipod compatible rips but those are low res bad quality ones, anyhow you can try

https://piratebayproxy.live/tor/4210776/X-Files_-_Season_1-9_[ipod-compat.mp4]

https://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/4475358/Entire_X-Files_for_iPod_-_Seasons_1-9

https://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/3992397/X-Files_-_All_9_seasons_in_h264
The last isn't psp/ipod compatible. it's a high profile rip and it might play on newer ipods/iphones but wont on psp.

meech is about Quality not Quantity.
@ili2882
Exactly, those ipod rips lack quality, and they are not exactly made for the standart HVGA devices. As for meech's releases, they are no doubt the best rips there are right now.
@maqui211 if you're looking for a rip with 400 Kbps video, 96 or 128 Kbps audio?
Then
https://piratebayproxy.live/torrent/3992397/X-Files_-_All_9_seasons_in_h264 is for you
I downloaded it two years ago when it was the best available rip
Seasons 1-5 are 4:3 624x464 [email protected] FS Rips with an average bit rate ~650 kbps (VBR)
Seasons 6-9 are 16:9 [email protected] WS 720:400 Rips with a bitrate of 650, audio for all is around 96 kbps AAC LC VBR.
After I finish Quantum Leap I'll be getting meech's rips for my library :)

ps. you can always get meech's rip and reencode it
@ili2882
Yup, I'll probably try encoding them.
A very good quality torrent by meech. A/V - 10/10.
Thanks!
need seeds! :( no one is giving kb/s! after i download i will be seeding!
V: 8.5 (relative to DVD, could use some DeRainbow())
A: Quality is 10 (relative to DVD), but it isn't synced correctly.
Out of sync sadly...
Meech is by far one the best I go to Meech for alot of TV shows Especially if they havent made it to bluray yet....

Thanks Meech for another Great Series.

I love your encoding Techniques it's better than all the other idiots who will try and stuff 9 or 10 GB Season into a 5 or 6 GB or some will make a season of a show that should be 10 GB and when they get done it will be over 15 GB.....
How do you turn the subtitles off?
God, I FUCKING hate M-Gay-V!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
