works for me on lion just edit the wine config to your username.

right-click the app --> show package content --> double-click the red box "wineskin" --> click advanced -->then click "tools" --> config utility (winecfg) --> click on the desktop integration tab --> click on documents --> change the path to your home folder (users/yourhomefolder) "/Users/peter" replace with "/Users/**YOUR USERNAME**" --> apply --> done --> done --> play by double-click the wrapper/game icon. This allows file saves.

Due to the nature of this conversion from windows to mac, there will be mixed results. Give it a shot, it works perfect for me.

Hey it doesnt seem to be working for me... I have snow Leopard 10.6.8 and when i try to launch it says it quit unexpectedly... and i was trying to do the wineskin thing the usr023 mentioned but when i click config utility it says "ERROR! Launching wineskin failed! No new wineskin PID found!" Please help i really want to play this game!

Ok i finally got the program to run

Im using a mac book pro

2.5 GHz intel core i5
4g RAM

Most recent mac update

Only thing is cant get the sound working

Any tips

Here is what i did to get the program working

First make sure you have both xquartz & wine

I put the "cracked" folder on my desktop

Ran the install "DVD" inside the folder

On the install I selected custom install.

Installed it into my "DRIVE C"

Then after install I went to my drive C folder under "my computer" and replaced the CITIES XL exe with the cracked one and place the rdl.dll file in there as well.

Then open xquartz and click on the "CITIES xl.exe"

White screen shows up for about 45 seconds or less then game runs

chariotx what do you mean put the "cracked" folder on your desktop and run the install DVD inside the folder. i dont have either one of those and if you have found some way to get it working then could you please tell us what you mean or at least me because i have no idea what you are talking about.

Guys, I'm trying to make this run (OS 10.8.3) if you right click "show contents" and open wineskin, you're going to see the wrapper version is old. I've downloaded Wineskin Winery, downloaded the latest engine and created a new wrapper manually. Then I opened wineskin on the cities package again, went to advanced, tools, and updated it TWICE (yes, twice). You will see that the wrapper version is now 2.5.9 (as of today) and engine is WS9Wine1.5.25. After that, I opened winetricks and downloaded d3dx9, dotnet2 and vcrun2005 (the game's requirements). Also, I have xquartz installed, don't know if that makes a difference. After all that the game worked :) I'm using a macbook pro 13 (i7) with 10.8.3 and it works great. Lemme know if you have questions just leave them here I can try to help.

Me again. Actually, running Cities XL 2012 with engine WS9Wine1.5.25 will give you some errors. To fix those, open winery and remove this engine, install the 1.3.29 engine, go to winetricks and search msvcr80 and run it. Game should run now, mine is running ok :)
