Genesis - Three Sides Live (1981) Length: 84 minutes, 33 seconds Resolution: 720x480 Frame rate: 29.970 Video: MPEG-4, near 5000 kbps Audio: 48 KHz, 16-bit stereo (PCM uncompressed) This is the full NTSC laserdisc transferred to an MPEG-4 AVI. I didn't use any of those crap newer video capture cards that have onboard MPEG-2 encoding, I used an older Hauppauge WinTV with the bt878 chip so the actual recording from the laserdisc output to the computer hard drive was uncompressed. (Actually lossless compression, HuffYUV - would have loved to upload that but it's 50 GB) Anyway, I've got the full laserdisc in this AVI in very high quality. The video has been left alone. I even preserve the original NTSC interlace. If it bugs you, just turn on de-interlace on playback in VLC or whatever you use. I preferred to keep it looking the same as the source. The audio has been EQ'd very carefully, the original audio is a little flat. The original recording quality in general wasn't anything special. This was 1981! The laserdisc player I used is a Pioneer LD-V2200. My upstream sucks. Thanks. :)

Wow, 12 hours after uploading and already 3 seeders and 47 leechers. I didn't think there would be such a big demand for this. Thanks to those of you who are actually seeding, help out fellow Genesis fans! :)
I have some more Genesis laserdiscs I will capture in the next week or so, stay tuned! I'd also like to hear comments or complaints about the quality.
The other Genesis LDs i have are Mama Tour (1984), In Concert 1976 (japanese import, this one cost me $120), Invisible Touch Tour (1987), and The Way We Walk Live (1992).
Three Sides Live has the worst video quality of the bunch. I imagine there isn't a big demand for the 1987 and 1992 laserdisc rips since they have been officially released on DVD, but let me know if you want them anyway.

Absolutely AWESOME upload, thanks! Glad it's from the laserdisc too, and not the VHS. Excellent quality, blows the VHS release out of the water. The In The Cage medley is the highlight of this one, fantastic! Thanks again.
seed you big being seed! some kind of weed!
I'm seeding again for you. Please seed for a while when done! :)
BTW, I re-captured it today and I'm going to upload a much better version soon. This time it will be the proper aspect ratio, de-interlaced, and most importantly, I'm using a 4-way comb filter to fix the chroma noise.
I'll still seed this for a bit, but you might want to actually wait for the new one. I should have it uploaded within 2 days.

Please DONT eq audio, use lossless audio compression. Each one can EQ that later if desired when listening according to each taste. Thanks.
Please dont EQ audio. That can be done by each user later at playback. The whole point is to have an exact backup of the LaserDisk. Thanks.
